The Decca navigator system was conceived in the US but had all the development carried out in the UK by Decca. Working on a similar hyperbolic method to Loran and GEE, the Decca however used signal phase differences rather than signal arrival time differences

to calculate a location fix. The Decca system was used during the D-Day landings to ensure that all the shipping ended up exactly where planned to achieve accurate landings. After the war it ws developed further in the UK and ultimately used world wide. The system was mainly used in shipping, but later on also saw usage in aircraft.
